Thanks to 452 people who have already made gifts to ASOR this year, we have exceeded our goal of 425 discrete donors for Fiscal Year 2018 (July 1, 2017 – June 30, 2018). Not only is this large number of donors (almost 25% of our membership) something that distinguishes ASOR from other societies, but these donations enable ASOR to carry out our mission. Subscriptions and memberships only account for about a quarter of our annual budget, so we rely on grants and donations from our members and friends.
Even modest gifts add up to create significant support for ASOR, and the high level of donor participation from our memberships helps us attract gifts from foundations and major donors. Truly, every donor is important, and every gift is meaningful.
As we enter the home stretch of our fiscal year, which ended June 30, we celebrate exceeding our goal of reaching 425 this year. This success has triggered $11,200 in new challenge gifts from several ASOR trustees. Those gifts will help ASOR have a balanced budget at a time where we have had some unexpected moving and and rent expenses due to losing our office space at Boston University.
Do you prefer to contribute to something other than the Annual Fund? No problem! Contributions for this challenge campaign need not be limited to the Annual Fund—they may be designated for student support, fellowships, cultural heritage, endowment, publications, the ASOR office, or any other area of ASOR’s work.
If you are one of the 452 people who has already made a gift to ASOR this fiscal year, thank you so much for your support. If you have not yet made a gift between July 1st and June 30, please consider joining the ranks of ASOR donors (click here to see the donors from last year). !
