The Museum is Your Classroom
Wednesday, November 20, 2024 | 3:00–5:00pm
A free workshop for ASOR Annual Meeting attendees at the Harvard Art Museums.Â
Join us at the Harvard Art Museums for an interactive workshop on interdisciplinary object-based learning. Together we’ll put ourselves in the shoes of learners and try a variety of strategies for engaging creatively with artifacts, from open discussion and team activities to writing prompts and learning through touch. No prior experience with object- or museum-based teaching is required. Participants will be encouraged to fill out a pre-workshop survey so we can tailor the workshop to the needs and interests of the group. Max 20 participants; spots are limited, and we will keep a wait list. Interested participants should complete this . You will be notified about the status of your registration via email.Â
The workshop will be led by staff members of the Harvard Art Museums and editors of the forthcoming volume Teaching about the Ancient World in Museums: Pedagogies in Practice.
Please contact Jen Thum (jennifer_thum@harvard.edu) if you have any questions.
